GUIDELINES & POLICIES
Please carefully read this confirmation. Our goal is for families to feel safe, comfortable, and have the best possible music experience !
Calendar:
We do not have any holiday closings on the schedule. If your class falls on a school holiday, we have limited space for older siblings to attend. Please be sure to speak to Julie a few days BEFORE class.
Before Class:
Please plan to arrive at no more than 10 minutes before your scheduled class time. In some cases we may have back to back classes.
HEALTH , SAFETY GUIDELINES & POLICIES FOR ALL CLASSES
In consideration for the health and safety of all families who attend classes or programs at Music Together Monroe Trumbull please note in registering for classes you are in agreement with the guidelines below:
1. Illness: Please do not attend class if you or your child is coughing or has an excessive runny, goupy nose (meaning if you are constantly wiping it throughout a 45 minute class) or thick green or yellow or crusty mucus. Help us keep a healthy environment. You will be asked to schedule a makeup if you attend under these circumstances. You can schedule a makeup at your convenience - there is no refund/credit for missed classes due to illness.
Please be considerate and refrain from attending class if:
~you have been diagnosed with coronavirus, flu or other.
~if you or your child(ren) have been in close proximity to someone who has recently had the coronavirus, flu or other.
~if you are your children are feeling sick, vomiting, have a fever, cough, or are experiencing general difficulty breathing.
~if you or your child is coughing excessively, has thick green or yellow runny nose or has had a fever within 24 hrs.
~if you have an ill sibling or family member that may transfer illness amongst your family.
Music Together Monroe Trumbull will not be held liable for any suspension or discontinuation of classes due to any State or CDC or other Government Agencies. Classes will resume online should we no longer be able to meet in person. No Refunds or Credits. Contact our office if you have further questions.
3. Masks are optional. We will be removing shoes in the classroom - non slip socks are highly recommended. Chairs are available if needed. Please leave all bags, pocketbooks, diaper bags and backpacks outside of the classroom in the waiting room. Some locations have designated areas or closets.
4. Inclement weather:
If our schedule accommodates, we will try to extend up to one bad weather event /teacher illlnes for a makeup date at the end of the session. Please schedule a makeup at your convenience if class is cancelled due to inclement weather. Do not wait until the end of the session to schedule your makeups - we do not give refunds for missed classes due to illness or weather.
For inclement weather you WILL NOT receive a text unless you have opted in to our text system. Please DO NOT remove yourself from the email list if you opt in to our text system. We will send an email out no later than 8 am. It will be posted on our FB and Instagram page. Our voice mail will reflect a message at 203-521-3013 by 8 am. For afternoon classes a decision will be made by 1 pm. There will be no refunds for classes missed due to inclement weather.
5. Food & Drink - Nursing and bottle feeding for infants is welcome - no sippy cups please. NO FOOD or DRINK DURING ANY CLASSES. If you or your child needs a drink please step outside the classroom. PLEASE REMEMBER CHILDREN AND ADULTS HAVE ALLERGIES TO SPECIFIC FOODS. IN ADDITION, WE ARE ACTIVELY MAKING MUSIC AND FOOD CONSUMING DURING THIS TIME CAN BE A SAFETY HAZARD. LASTLY, WE ARE USING OUR SOUND MAKER, FOOD CAN INTERFERE WITH SINGING AND SOUND MAKING.
6. Guests - Adult family members are welcome and are limited to 2, contact Julie first as some classes are more full than others, some classes have more adults attending than others and there may not be space for extra adults. Please know that they also must be in agreement with the guidelines as you registered. Inform your guest of our participatory experience and the emphasis is on adults modeling music. Ask them to refrain from talking throughout the class but rather model and participate. Older siblings - should it be necessary for you to bring an older child for a one time visit to class please contact Julie.(Multiple visits require a sibling fee of $13.50 per class based on availability). If you wish to bring a guest with a child, please have them visit the Class Visit link provided here https://musictogetherctclass.com/dropins.aspx. Some classes may not be able to accommodate child visitors as makeup and class visitor slots are monitored.
7. Cell Phones/Watches/Cameras - please put cell phones on vibrate and put them away during class. An occasional picture is welcome - we strongly prefer no videos. We love when you tag us on social media! Please use this time to be totally present and attentive to being with your child. Watches and devices can be extremely distracting.
14. Makeups are unlimited and must be made up within the same session you are enrolled. Please note: Julie is no longer the director in Newtown and makeups can no longer be scheduled in Newtown. To schedule your makeup go to https://musictogetherctclass.com/makeups.aspx the access code is salsa. No refunds or credits will be given for missed classes. Schedule your makeups as soon as possible - do not wait until the end of the session as class sizes are limited. Please be courteous and CANCEL your makeup as early as possible if you cannot attend to leave space for another family.
15. Bonus Classes for full tuition paid: Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer up to 2 and are pending availability. Pending class sizes may limit the amount of space in each class. We highly recommend attending bonus classes from the start of the session when there is more availability. Bonus classes may not be used for siblings or child guests. We have a class visit fee for anyone who is not enrolled. For prorated tuition payments 1 bonus class is offered for each session. Schedule a bonus class the same way you schedule a makeup.

Materials:
The Drum or Tiger song collection and songbook will be handed out the first day of class. Please be extra diligent about listening to the music as it will help you and your child connect to our new class experience quicker and easier. The more you listen and play with music throughout the week, the deeper the learning experience you both will have. Plus, the more fun we will have in class!
